Multi-engine Rating

To fly an aircraft with more than one engine, a pilot requires a multi-engine rating.

With a multi-engine rating, a person may:

  • Exercise the privileges of their licence in a multi-engine aircraft

REQUIREMENTS

  • Complete a flight test in a multi-engine aircraft

Although there are no minimum experience requirements for this rating, we find that pilots will take; on average, about 10 hours of flight instruction to prepare for the flight test

Consult the Canadian Aviation Regulations for the complete details of these minimum requirements
